How I Turned Act 3 Pilgrims into My Personal Rosary Piñatas in Hollow Knight: Silksong

Let’s be real—when I first waltzed into Act 3 of Silksong, I expected my rosary farming life to get easier. More dangerous territory means juicier drops, right? Boy, was I wrong. The moment you leave the cozy embrace of Act 2, the game yanks away your favorite piggy bank: that beautiful cluster of enemies west of the First Shrine bench. Gone. Poof. No warning, no apology letter. Just a map that now laughs at your empty pockets. After a good half-hour of flying into rooms and getting dribbles of rosaries, I knew I had to find a new home. And I did—deep in the Choral Chambers, where three unsuspecting pilgrims now fund my entire late-game lifestyle.

Three glowing enemies surrounding Hornet in the Choral Chambers, ideal rosary farming spot in Act 3

This spot sits all the way in the top-left corner of the Choral Chambers, at the bench directly beneath the High Halls entrance. It’s the kind of place you’d miss if you’re just dashing through, but trust me, once you know it’s there, you’ll never forget it. I like to think of the room east of that bench as my little afternoon appointment with three generous (but very doomed) pilgrims. Each run is a perfect loop: wake up at the bench, dash right into the room, and greet my three walking ATMs. With the Thief’s Mark equipped, downing all three nets you exactly 67 Rosaries. The math gets silly fast. Grab a timer—each cycle takes about 20 seconds. That’s roughly 200 rosaries per minute, or 12,000 rosaries per hour. I haven’t seen numbers this consistent since my cookie-clicker days.

The real magic, though, is how efficiently you can mulch these pilgrims. They travel in a tight little group, almost like they’re begging you to line them up. After countless runs, I’ve nailed a rhythm that feels like a dance:

  1. From the bench, dash right into the combat room. Get cozy. Real close.

  2. Unleash a Silkspear immediately. The first two pilgrims evaporate on the spot (so satisfying), and the third is left wheezing with a sliver of health.

  3. Dash right again for a running Needle attack, which lifts Hornet into the air.

  4. Before you even hit the ground, follow up with a quick downward slash. Pop. Done.

  5. Turn around, dash back to the bench, and repeat like the smooth criminal you are.

Now, if you’re worried about your Silk reserves, you need to meet my best friend: the Egg of Flealia. With this beauty equipped, every two hits I land with the Wanderer Crest refund exactly the cost of that first Silkspear. It’s a virtuous cycle—Silk flows out, Silk flows back. I’m basically a closed-loop murder economy. The Cogfly Tool isn’t strictly necessary for this run, but I keep it tucked in my pocket like a good-luck charm. If I ever fumble a dash or a pilgrim gets cheeky, it’s my backup plan. No shame in a safety net.

Upgraded Shaman Crest icon with no yellow slots, poor fit for this farming setup

You might be tempted to swap in the Shaman Crest because it technically boosts Silk Skill damage. I see you, overachiever. But here’s the cold truth: the Shaman Crest brings zero Yellow slots to the party. You know what that means? Less room for utility. Worse, even with that damage boost, you can’t one-shot the third pilgrim—so you’re stuck still having to use your Needle anyway. At that point, you’re better off sticking with the Wanderer Crest, which actually buffs the Needle attacks you need to finish the job. I tried the Shaman once. The pilgrims didn’t die faster; my patience did.

Honestly, I’ve come to love this little rosary loop. There’s something meditative about it. Wake up, poke three pilgrims, sit down, repeat. The Choral Chambers ambient music almost makes it feel like a spa day, if spas were full of silk and slightly aggressive bug clergy. It’s not the flashiest farm, but it’s absurdly reliable and requires near-zero setup once you’ve got the crests in order.

So, if Act 3 has been rough on your wallet—if you’ve been selling your silk just to afford a bench nap—roll into the Choral Chambers, find that top-left bench, and remember: those three pilgrims aren’t enemies. They’re your payday. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have about 12,000 rosaries to collect before lunch.

While farming rosaries in the Choral Chambers can be a soothing grind, sometimes you're looking to optimize your setup or snag rare items without breaking the bank. For those moments, it’s worth exploring alternative ways to stretch your resources and enhance your gameplay. Whether it’s gear upgrades, silk-efficient crests, or discounted tools, having access to reliable sources can make all the difference.
